Getting Ready For Your Acting Headshots

SCROLL DOWN FOR LOCATION ADDRESS / INFO

Getting a great acting headshot is one of the key tools for an actor to promote themselves. Casting directors, agents, and other industry professionals will normally encounter you for the first time through your headshot.

We aim to make every session fun with no pressure at all. The sessions are fast-moving without being rushed, and they normally run for just around 1 hour.

In preparation for your photo shoot, we wanted to provide you with some guidance and instruction to make sure we all get what we need from your photoshoot and headshots. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Please be prepared for weather delays, as we live in South Florida.  Please know that we shoot outside, on location. The weather may also force us to reschedule the shoot, so be prepared.

1) Please show up at the time we have you scheduled.  We have a busy schedule, so please properly estimate your drive time.

If you are running late, please text us at 561-302-4659.

2) Clothing/Apparel:

Clothing reflects you, your brand, and your personality, so it’s worth spending some time choosing the right outfits(s) for your shoot. For the majority of acting headshots, it’s only your top half you need to worry about.

For most headshots, we would recommend avoiding too many distracting patterns, graphics, brand logos, or super vibrant colors.  Please bring plenty of tops with you so we can decide on the best ones for you.

NO CROP TOPS or HALTER TOPS, LADIES!

V-NECKS AND PLAIN T-SHIRTS ARE BEST!

Wear what you feel represents you. Bring 5-7 options of clothing, including different colors. PLEASE INCLUDE A BLACK TOP, GREY TOP & a WHITE TOP, SHIRT OR BLOUSE. Layering looks with jackets, etc also works well.

*Please bring several pairs of jeans (blue, black or white). No holes or ripped jeans, please.

*Please bring a blue jean jacket and/or black jacket, if you have one or other jackets (no suit jackets), Leather jackets are great too.

 3) How To Prepare:

*Please bring your shirts ironed and on a hanger (important)

*Please ensure you get a good night’s rest (important). Parents this is extremely important for kids & teens.

*Also, it is very important you stay hydrated; please drink water.

*Everyone comes hair & makeup ready. We shoot outside in natural light, so light makeup is always the best. We can always add more if needed. If you are a teen, we want to keep you looking your age, so very light or no makeup for you.

*NO JEWELRY means no jewelry. This means earrings, nose rings, and necklaces. Your acting headshot is supposed to be all about YOU!

4) Hair / Makeup:

Diane will be on set to help you throughout the photoshoot. It is IMPORTANT that you understand that your hairstyle, color, and cut need to be marketable, so we suggest no wild colors. This goes for makeup as well. We want the images to capture your personality but, most importantly, beauty. Industry professionals want to see exactly how you would appear for an audition.

We do not use makeup on kids. Teens may use very natural makeup. We need to have you look your age. Any blemishes or pimples will be removed in post-production.

If you choose to have a makeup artist, we highly recommend Rachel Weissman Beautiful Faces by Rachel 917-280-1277 - Please contact her directly.  She is $125 additional paid directly to her.

Please TEXT Diane a current photo of yourself to 561-302-4659 to see your hairstyle. Please make sure that you have had a haircut recently so that you do not have any split ends.

5) Payments for the Balance of the Photoshoot:

As for the remainder payment, you can bring cash, or check or use Venmo or Zelle.

6) End of Scheduled Session:

After your session, we will put all of the best images into a private gallery and send you a link to review. From this gallery, you can choose your favorites. Once you have finished selecting, you will email us the image numbers, and we will retouch them for you.
