NYC CASTING DIRECTOR BARRY SHAPIRO

Barry Shapiro owns Herman & Lipson Casting. He has been with Herman & Lipson for over 37 years, casting over 8,000 commercials, both voiceover and on-camera, for products such as L'Oréal, ESPN, Advil, Verizon, Toys R Us, and many other top accounts. He casts commercials worldwide and also for film, television, and theatre.

Barry teaches dynamic online commercial audition techniques classes for teens and adults at the Green Room Acting Studio.

Barry’s Coaching Philosophy

My philosophy is not to teach acting but to teach you how to use your acting skills to help you book the job. I focus on helping the student make strong choices that the others auditioning might not think of. 
 
To make their auditions memorable and unique. The idea is that it’s not just about this audition, but helping the student get more auditions.
 

Barry Shapiro Online Commercial / VO Class:

Ages: Open to Teens and Adults (Ages 14 and older)
Day: Wednesdays
Time: 8 PM to 9:30 PM Eastern

Cost:  $220 / per month. 

We allow a one-time paid trial acting class in our classes for new students.  We will prorate if you enroll after the start of the month.  This is an ongoing class, so you MUST provide ten days' notice by canceling using the online cancellation form no later than the 20th of the month before the first.
