Gregory James Blount (known professionally as Gregory James) is a talent industry expert with over 30 years of experience across film, television, fashion, and talent development. He earned his degree in Film Production with a minor in Fashion Photography from the University of South Carolina, and began his career working on major films including Days of Thunder, The Prince of Tides, and Wild Hearts Can’t Be Broken. During this time, he also worked as a model and actor, signing with major agencies such as ZOLI and CESD, and securing representation in multiple U.S. markets.
In 1993, Greg joined Peter Glenn Publications, one of the leading global directories and resources for agencies and talent. He purchased the company in 1997 and continues to serve as its owner. Greg later returned to creative production in Florida, producing So You Want To Be A Model, where he discovered Amber Heard at age 17. Amber went on to star in Aquaman, produced by Greg’s former NYC roommate Deborah Snyder and her husband Zack Snyder.
Greg’s experience expanded to producing live entertainment and music events, including projects with several Disney Channel actors. Today, Greg and his wife, Diane Marie, own The Green Room Acting Studio, one of the top online acting studios in the U.S., where they have helped place 300+ actors with legitimate agents and managers through their Virtual Agent Showcase. Their students have appeared in WONKA, The Thundermans, New Amsterdam, Dear Edward, and more.
Greg also owns Sound Tree Entertainment and recently directed his first feature film, The Tan Man (2024). He lives in Boca Raton with Diane and their Yorkies, Solo and Obi-Wan.
