Thank you for visiting our website! Since 2009, the Green Room Acting Studio has helped thousands of actors of all ages pursue careers in Film, TV, Commercial, and VoiceOver work. Our instructors are well-known casting directors and acting coaches from Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, and Miami.

The Green Room Acting Studio, or GRAS as we call it, is one of North America's largest online acting studios. They call it Show Business for a reason! Our unique philosophy of assisting actors (and parents) is equally divided between teaching the craft and helping with the business. Since March 2020, we have helped over 250+ actors get signed by top agents and managers in major markets.

Hello, my name is Diane Marie, and I am the Studio Director at GRAS. I am joined by my husband, Greg James Blount. Both Greg and I, along with our support team, handle the studio's administration. As a model & actress myself for over 30 years, my job is to help assist you with onboarding and selecting the class that might be best for you. Greg is our Director of Talent Development. We do not teach the acting classes, we leave that to our amazing instructors.

Greg is the owner and Publisher of Peter Glenn Publications, a 69-year-old entertainment publishing company he bought in 1997 when he was 27 years old. PGP published the famous Madison Avenue Handbook and also the International Directory of Model & Talent Agencies. This lead to building long-standing relationships with model & talent agencies and casting directors worldwide. Greg is known for discovering actors, including Amber Heard, Kira Kosarin (Phoebe on The Thundermans), Kayden Muller (Disney’s Villians of Valley View), Colin O’Brien (WONKA), and many others.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How does GRAS work?: First, most people start with taking and booking an online trial acting class. This allows the actor to take one (1) class without committing to enroll and join a FREE online ZOOM orientation with one of our excellent instructors, veteran actress Carolyn Stotesbery.

When joining a studio, we respect it as a personal preference, so learning more about the studio and all we offer is an excellent way for you to learn more about GRAS. We host these intro orientations several times a month on Tuesdays at 7 PM Eastern Time. The cost of the one-time trial online class is $48.75.
Do I have to take a trial class first to join the studio?: No, once you check out our fantastic teaching staff, based on their reputation alone, you may jump right in and directly enroll in a class.

Additionally, we offer a 7-Week Foundations of Acting certificate class taught by veteran actor David Wenzel. This class is great for beginners and intermediate actors, and the curriculum introduces you to the four “legends of acting” - Stella Adler, Uta Hagen, Stanislavski, and Meisner.
What is the philosophy of the Green Room Acting Studio?: Our goal is to help our actors learn the craft and ensure they understand the expectations, including the tools an actor needs to succeed. Our Director of Talent Development meets with each new student once they officially enroll as students and provides them direct guidance on the “business” side.

As we have nine excellent teachers here at GRAS, we strongly encourage our students to rotate their classes every 2-3 months with one of our teachers.
Do you offer in-person classes or are all the classes on ZOOM?: Other than special workshops or our on-set master classes in South Florida, all our classes are online.

Since COVID, the industry has changed tremendously. Whereas we understand the benefits of taking an in-person class, the reality is that ZOOM offers actors the opportunity to train with our well-known instructors from anywhere in the country. The instructors who teach here have spent decades in the industry. We invite you to check out each of the teacher's impressive bios under the STAFF section of the website.
What is the benefit of rotating classes?: Since we have veteran actors and well-known casting directors teaching here, the teachers all offer feedback from their specific points of view. A casting director’s feedback might differ from an acting coach's feedback. A coach from NY might have a different perspective from the Los Angeles coach.
Are there any other benefits of rotating classes?: YES, we believe everyone can get a “JOB” in any career field using a strong resume. By rotating classes, just like being in college, an actor can add a new credential to their resume with industry-respected acting teachers and casting directors. Your resume should be about WHAT you train ( the classes that you take ) and WHO you train with ( recognizable names ).
How important is the actor’s resume?: VERY IMPORTANT! As stated earlier, an actor's resume (and headshot) are the first things that are seen to hopefully land auditions.

So, not only is a professionally formatted resume essential, but the “WHO” you have worked with or trained with is equally important. An actor’s resume tells a story! It either tells a good story or a bad story. Most actors do not understand the importance of the actor's resume.
How can I receive a sample version of the actors resume template?: When you subscribe to our newsletter, the system will provide a PDF version of the proper acting resume template.

If you choose to enroll, you will be able to set up a one-on-one meeting with our Director of Talent Development, who will provide you with not only the PDF version but also the Word document version along with specific guidance and instructions.
How do I know how my acting career (or my child’s career) is developing?: Every two months, our instructors complete a written evaluation form for their students which is sent to you and our Director of Talent Development for review. This feedback is vital to an actor's growth.
