Saturday, JUNE 13TH • Two Live Zoom Sessions
Ani Avetyan, CSA – Casting Director
Ani Avetyan is an accomplished casting director and proud member of the Casting Society of America (CSA) with extensive experience casting major network television and studio productions. Her work spans some of television’s most recognized series, including Major Crimes (85 episodes), The Closer (58 episodes), and Hellcats (17 episodes), among many other projects across film and television.
Known for her keen eye for talent and deep understanding of performance, Ani has built a reputation for helping shape memorable ensembles while collaborating with top producers, directors, and networks. In addition to casting established talent, she is especially passionate about discovering and developing new actors, and enjoys working with young performers and emerging artists as they navigate their path in the entertainment industry.
Through both her professional casting work and educational outreach, Ani is committed to guiding actors at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels, offering insight into the casting process and helping performers better understand how to present themselves authentically and effectively for today’s industry.
This is not a lecture. This is a working class.
Actors will work directly with Ani and a reader in real time.
This is a scene study intensive focused on ownership, emotional depth, and character truth.
Before the workshop, each actor will complete a 10-question character background breakdown designed to:
• Clarify backstory
• Define relationships
• Identify emotional stakes
• Establish personal history
• Ground the character in specificity
You will come in prepared — not guessing.
During the workshop, Ani will:
• Work one-on-one with each actor on their prepared scene
• Challenge and refine your character choices
• Push you toward authentic, specific storytelling
• Help you personalize the material so it becomes your own
The goal isn’t simply to “perform well.”
The goal is to make the work truthful, specific, and undeniable.
Ideal for youth and adult actors building their foundation.
In this session, Judy will:
• Guide actors through scene adjustments in real time
• Strengthen character development and emotional connection
• Teach audition awareness and on-camera presence
• Help actors understand what casting directors truly look for
If you're newer to the craft or strengthening your technique, this session will give you structure, clarity, and direction.
